Rory was born in the early 80’s and raised n the 90’s. Part of the chemical generation who were exposed to and influenced by the start of the house music scene in the UK in the years of 88 to 92. The years when the mancs brought back and introduced to their generation a new electric sound from the across the pond… Acid House.
The UK took house music to the next level and it became and remains fully embedded in our culture. The evolution in the 90’s alone was incredible as the clubs, venues, warehouses and fields raved to the sound of hardcore, jungle, 4 beat, techno and retro whilst mc’s spat bars and the crowed got loved up. Then as the decade came to an end garage, speed garage and trance were the new scenes. Oh and this whole house music revolution / evolution happened along side Brit pop.
The 90’s were the bollocks, you didn’t spend the night through the view of a smart phone, you went out with your mates, got loved up, had a 1000 other loved up mates that you met for the first time at the venue and you didn’t just enjoy the music, the music took control. Rory and all the rest of the chemical generation are truly privileged to get the 90’s card in life.
Electronic music has no boundaries. Technology has created a cottage industry of bedroom producers, making music and content that they love and can share with the world in one click. The wealth and quality out there and available to all to stream at no cost is staggering. At least once a week Rory stumbles across an amazing track and cannot believe it’s only had a few plays, likes or comments. He had to show his appreciation, admiration, call it what you want and comment straight away, normally stating that this has to be heard by more people and should have tens of thousands listening, love in and like in. Making sure the artist knows that they have created something beautiful, even though most of the tracks are proper dirty bad boys.
if you like music produced by Rory, or the millions of other producers, artist, DJ’s, singers or musicians out there, the give it some love and share with your friends, family, work mates and pets. Help the artist get recognition and your network get to hear what you like, love and are influenced by.
And…. if you don’t like a track then don’t spread the love because there ain’t any. Move on to the next track, artist genre etc at the click of a button or the press of a finger and experienced more and more music until you do.
live your life, love what you love, but never stop experiencing new music… it’s in our DNA as humans.
